RSVP / Hyperdrive

The Robotic Sequencing and Visualization Program (RSVP) is a suite of software tools used for planning robotic operations.

RSVP is comprised of two tools: the Rover Sequence Editor (RoSE), a graphic user interface and planning tool for rover commands, and Hyperdrive, which provides multiple 3D graphics interfaces to the stereo images and 3D terrain-model data. Hyperdrive is used to plan all rover motions, including driving over the surface of Mars and complex robotic arm motions to place instruments on sites of geologic interest.

As cognizant engineer, Nick Wiltsie won the NASA Early Career Public Achievement Medal for the development of this software and its subsequent positive impact on efficiency and science return.
