Freeclimber: Lemur III

The LEMUR III (Limbed Excursion Mechanical Utility Robots, version 3) robot is a dextrous four-limbed climbing robot designed to traverse extreme terrain. It can scale cliffs and maneuver through rocky areas. Each limb is composed of six identical actuators to allow for dexterity and easy reparability.

It uses miscrospine grippers, composed of thousands of tiny spines capable of digging into rock surfaces for a strong hold. Potential applications for this technology also include asteroid capture or micro-gravity percussive drilling.
